Privacy Policy for Offline Encrypted Notes
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Offline Encrypted Notes ("the App") is developed with privacy as its foundation. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.
1. Data We Collect
The App does not collect, transmit, or have access to the contents of your notes. All notes are stored locally on your device and encrypted using PBKDF2-derived keys generated from your PIN. We have no server, no account system, and no ability to view your data.
2. Google Drive Access
If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, the App requests the drive.file scope only. This scope restricts access to files the App itself creates — it cannot view, list, or modify any other file in your Google Drive. Your Google account credentials are handled entirely by Google's sign-in flow; the App never sees or stores your password.
3. Local Device Storage
Backup files you create (local or Drive) may be encrypted with a password you choose, separate from your vault PIN. It is your responsibility to keep this password safe — we cannot recover it if lost.
4. Permissions
The App may request camera access (for OCR note capture) and microphone access (for voice-to-text input). These are used only to capture content directly into a note you're creating and are never transmitted anywhere.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
6. Data Deletion
Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored notes and settings from your device. If you've enabled Google Drive backup, backup files remain in your own Drive until you delete them yourself.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
